If I were a soap man I'd have bought one like this already.
Have you seen the Moss Scuttle?
Could you create a hybrid?

Sounds good Scott, I look forward to the pics. The traditional blue / white is nice but then again I'd like one with Popeye on it.
Gary
That is a traditional scuttle, and that's exactly the configuration I'm after, if not the exact shape. That scuttle, with the Williamsburg salt glaze decorations is what I'm after!Quote:

These were both inspired by original antique shaving mugs. I will try other designs and, hopefully improve my skills over time. I'm fairly happy with the results so far though, at least for a first attempt.
These look great! What price range were you thinking of?
Ha! That's the big question. I'm not sure how to price these. If there were a usual and customary standard for these it would be easier, but to my knowledge, no one else is doing anything like these.
I'm considering putting them on auction at ebay to see what they might go for. I think ebay is a pretty fair indicator of market value. Then maybe I'd have a better idea how to price them.
Scott
Very nice! I've been using my moss scuttle pretty exclusively, but I might consider picking up one of those toad ones when you get the pricing sorted out.

Scott,
Great looking mugs....:)
Try and determine what it costs to produce the mugs
and add what you think that your labor is worth.
Then present the considered price to this forum
and the other shaving forums as well.
This might be a better option that seeing what
the highest bidder will be willing to pay on ebay.
Ebayers are looking for a smaoking deal.
Just a thought,
Terry
I am still interested if priced in reasonable range. Will you be creating any for specific vocations or interests........ie, masonic, teachers, etc.
Thanks,
Lynn
Lynn,
That was my intention. Maybe a HD for you? As far as price, I'm thinking around $35 for a fully decorated mug less for just a name. Sound fair? That way you can really use it and not worry about it too much.
