*CDN Alert* Cheap soap bowls

Since I placed an order with Colleen, for several different soaps, I went out shopping for ceramic bowls for them. At Zellers, I found these perfect ceramic bowls, just a bit larger in diameter than her soaps and just the right depth for $5.99+tax. They are available in black, sickly blue and a greyish creamish color. I actually brought a cake or Orange Patchouli to test'em and went all over the place until I found this one fine specimen. Bought 4 of the black ones, but one of them got chipped in transit

Ah well, I'm 99% sure that I'll be able to exchange it and maybe get another one... Yeah, I'm a sicko lol.

Another alert:
C&E has a special on small travel brushes! 5 bucks a pop. They say they're pure bristle (I'm assuming it's boar and not plastic) but I didn't bother opening mine up. Taking it to Ottawa this weekend.
I don't know if they have the same thing in the US, but it's worth looking into if you need a traveller.

Actually I'm not sure about the bristles on that brush. You may still want it for travelling, but they don't look natural. Still, it's the same price as the wilkinson plastic bristled brush and looks nicer. Just too tired to snap pics of the bowls right now and gonna be extra busy these days. I can get'em for you before Colleen's soaps arrive though.

btw, speaking of cheap shaving mugs, check out Dollarama.
They have top-notch mugs for ...uhm.. yeah, a dollar.

I actually checked out the dollar stores first (large ones, too). They had these mugs that were ALMOST perfect for Colleen's soaps, but were still about 5mm too narrow. That's why I checked out IKEA and Zellers on my way home and they really were perfect. Just the right width and depth to work up a nice shaving lather.

I personally use a dollarama mug. Its more of a bowl really. I use cream, though, so the fit is not a problem.
Used to put a cake of williams soap there, too, the fit was quite loose but still worked very well. The soap will stick to the bottom anyway, so the more interesting question for me is if the mug/bowl is shaped in such a way that I don't get lather all over my hand while working the brush.
Anyhow, your average dollarama has about a dozen different mugs, I'm sure you can find the ones that suit you.

I actually brought a cake of Orange Patchouli to test the mugs. People in the store looked at me as if I were crazy. Found quite a few that were just a littlebit too small and a whole bunch that were WAY too large. The ones I found at Zellers were just fine and they the Nomad also fits in there nicely. They were also the right depth to work up a nice lather. For my creams, I use this shallow (1.5cm) glazed clay bowl with two handles that I used for nuking eggs for egg-muffin sandwiches.

I was looking at my gramdpa's stuff at the cottage this weekend and was suprised that he was using cappichino cups. I assume because they are good for height as they are shallow, but are still a good wide enough mug that a cake could be placed in them.
