Not only does she make a serviceable brush, she's also a self-contained hot lather machine as long as you keep her supplied with tart-cherry Z-bones. Fully automatic operation. Just put a bit of peanut butter on your face when the lather is ready and she will take care of the rest!
Damn that should win a prize, but first I have to go and have a retch in the gutter just thinking about that dogs drool...:overkill:

Am I going to be the first person to put a live animal to my face??? I do have a couple weasels living here!!!!
I'm letting my softer side show on this unconventional brush.
First, I thought the stems might whip up the lather better. Took a lot to get it here, maybe if I mashed the ends?

Applying the lather, I used a softer part of the "brush" this time.

Mmmm, smells nice!

A bit delicate for face lathering, so my search continues.
I found the face lathering solution!
As I was preparing to make some charcloth for an upcoming camping trip, it struck me that If the nice soft flannel were to be unraveled and rolled into a cylinder... it could be brush like and soft!

A little Speick, some water. and a lot of work again, I have a thin face lather.

Not much backbone and very little loft but it got the job done.
I think I'll stick with my badgers, boars and horses.
Thanks for the contest and the fun!
Okay, so we have these lying around the house, and she just grew out of the ones, so I thought I would try a diaper! Yes, an unused diaper.

So after it absorbed about a pint of water and all of the soap, and I put a lot of soap on it, it looked like this:

Then it did allow some lather on my face, barely enough to shave with, but I had to super soak the thing with about another pint of water!!!
Then it did actually give me enough for three passes, but left a bit of detritus as you can see from the cotton pulling on my coarse whiskers!

That was fun, at least I wasn't super exfoliated (bloody from the brush). I was going to do a bottle brush, but it was too easy!!!
EDIT: I used an unscented natural soap when I tried the bottle brush, then sterilized in a 1 tbs to gallon ratio of bleach water to sterilize it for the baby bottles. Wife doesn't know of course. If you want picturesI would be happy to load those as well of course, it was just way too easy, lathered up really, really well! I also thought about using one of my daughter's lovies, but didn't think I would hear the end of it if my coarse facial hair pulled it apart...
