In no particular order, because I prefer different brushes for different things, here are my current top 5.
Semogue owners Club Boar
Vie-Long Professional Horse
Muehle Silvertip Fibre
Muehle Black Fibre
Vie-Long 16510 Silvertip
I have about 7 brushes and to tell you the truth I couldn't pick a top anything. They all perform great. Maybe my custom brush with the Elephant ivory handle I wouldn't include because it's just too floppy for me. It's more a showpiece.
Wow, this is challenging. Well, at the moment, here is my list in no particular order:
Frank Shaving synthetic 24/48mm ( just for what it can do, how it feels and how cheap it was)
Rooney Heritage Stubby 1XL
Chubby 1 two-band
Vie-Long BGS 2012 natural horse hair Butterscotch Beehive
I have too many that works flawlessly to really separate them all that much, but here are 5 superb ones:
Rooneys Finest 26mm two-band.
Simpson Polo 12, two band.
Simpson Lakeness Manchurian badger 25mm.
Simpson Chubby 3 in two band Super.
Plisson High Mountain white two band #16
In no particular order:
Simpson Chubby 1 Super
Simpson Chubby 1 Manchurian
Simpson Duke 2 Best
Simpson Duke 3 Silvertip
Shavemac 177, 23mm Silvertip
Just some of my top 5's
Simpson: Chubby 2 Super
Tulip T3 Super
Keyhole KH4 custom Super
Beaufort B6 custom Super
sHavemac D01 model:90 SilverTip
Charles U.K
I only use five brushes, so this one's pretty easy:
Thäter 49125/0
Vie Long 12705 horse hair
New Forest two-band
Small Plisson pure
Semogue 1460
Pretty much in that order.
I don't even own 5 brushes. My go to brush is a Dubl Duck Boar with original knot. I have a couple other vintage brushes, but they are waiting for new knots. I have been seriously thinking about trying one of those Semogue brushes though.
I've managed to get my brushes down to 2:
1. New Forest Tubby 2 -signed
2. Kent BKL12
God I miss my brushes. Time to start collecting again!
