Thanked: 3215New "Pix" brush arrived
Last night when I got home, my new “Pixelfixed Special,” Burled Musk Ox Horn/African Blackwood/Lignum Vitae/Ivory inlayed, High Mountain White Badger Brush had arrived. This morning I put it to work, not only is it a beautiful work of art, it is a Lather Maker.
Like you, I have been in awe viewing Pixelfixed’s creations. When I saw this one in the Classified I had to buy it. I have bought off the shelf production brushes for more money, with one tenth the craftsmanship, quality and aesthetic form.
It is a beautiful brush and delight to hold and lather. We shave daily with antique art, why not lather up with an Objet d'art. This one will sit on the counter not in the cabinet with the bench warmers.
Pixel, Thanks… you really should sign these things.
Marty
Here is Pixel’s description.
“Some very esoteric materials and a lot of time went into this one of a kind brush.
The base is African Blackwood with a pre ban ivory inlay, 3/4 in. dia. suitable for Scrimshaw work.
The inner band is musk ox horn burl. I cannot get this anymore, this is the last of it.
The top cap is Lignum Vitae officially, getting unobtainable today.
The Knot is very special, Is TGNs High Mountain white in 24mm, a one of a kind brush that will never be made again.”
