You will get it worked out. What I would do is makeup a mock handle say out of 1.5 in dowel and go from there.Have fun:)
Thanks for the update, Cangooner. I'm still in the market -- I've been completely distracted by business the last month or so, and, in fact still am. I'd be curious to hear any resports of AliBaba/Mr. Chen's knots, although they'd have to be stellar to compete with TGN double-bands.
Like zimmer would say,you will love TGN finest two bands,I gaurantee it :)
I am waiting for my two knots - a 22mm and a 24mm. They shipped 2-3 weeks ago. Hopefully I'll have them within the next 2 weeks. I'll report back. I will not order from him again. It's a good thing these are for a couple of random handles that I have sitting around. He wouldn't be a good business partner, from all appearances, and if someone were looking to build their first or second brush with his knots, for his timing alone I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered my knots on May 19th and June 3rd. I hear the quality is good, but that's not enough without decent service.
Here ya go...
It took quite a while to get around to taking the time to figure out the loft and to get a handle turned, but it finally came together today. Handle is bocote (love the grain of that wood!) finished with CA. I finally decided to set the hole at 22mm, so I guess that gives this beastie a loft somewhere around 61mm. Here are a few pics. The last one is just for scale, set beside a 24mm silvertip. I like big handles (partly for ergonomics, but also I like the way they work for getting down into my scuttle), so without that 24mm I didn't think it looked as big as it is in the pics.

And the most important question: it lathers like CRAZY! It still has a serious case of badger funk, but wow, does it ever work well.
