My DIY shaving brush

It's my first post here so Hi Gents!

Below I present my first finished shaving brush
Description:
Knot - 24mm diameter Black badger (pure grade)
Handle - ash wood
Finish - wood stain and CA coated
Dimension - 135mm of total high. 60mm - knot and 75mm handle

This type of handle shape is really ergonomic. I prefer it.
Dimensios are fitted to bowl shown on last photos. Target was keep my fingers dry during lather buiding process.

The bowl comes from one of small Polish pottery. It's prototype and first (in Polish I suppose) one with this type of inner shape.
Really it little bit darker. Photos below are closer of true.

So, next one is synthetic.

Knot - 24mm diameter synthetic
Handle - cherry wood
Finish - CA coated (matt)
Dimension - 125mm of total high. 60mm - knot and 65mm handle

Looks great!! I love the shape of it, and I Love the cherry wood.

If you really want that CA finish to shine, sand it up 2500 with water and then use a plastic polish ( Car headlight polish) as the final buff on high RPMs. It'll turn it into glass!!

Very nice brush & bowl. For a first timer you did a fantastic job on the brush. I can't say enough about it & the bowl looks like it will make a lather rather quickly. Great job indeed!!!

Yes. First brush handle is sanded 2000 with water and soap and polished.
Second is finished by scotch brite for matt efect.

It's fact. This type of surface helps to make a lather, but actually I use my new lowely shaving scuttle.

Ohhh! How pretty! I wish I could try a newer synthetic (that one in particular!:D). Tried a few about 5 yrs ago and they would not retain anything. I understand they are better now?

Lovely work.

It's inspiring to see such work from a small "pocket" lathe. Gives me hope that one day, I might try my hand at something similar.

Every Brush you posted Lewy is Outstanding, looks fun to do, you've inspired me to make my own handle , thanks for posting.

I have been eyeing those synthetic knots, some look softer than any natural?.

Those remind me of the old fashioned barber brushes! Great job!
