I know it's not a book but I just finished all 147 walking dead comics since Monday and boy is it different than the tv show, there is a lot of exciting things coming though
I recently finished The Martian. It is quite suspenseful, though the one-technical challenge after another for pretty much the whole book gets kind of repetitive. For once, I'm hoping the movie is better.
I went for some old school Stephen King- just finished Carrie!
I'm about half-way through "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. It's written from the perspective of a dog and so far I'm thoroughly enjoying it. :)

I have read the first three chapters of an I interlibrary loan book that finally arrived. I had given up so it was a nice surprise. Anyway, the book is A Scavenger's Guide to Haute Cuisine by Steven Rinella. The story is about Rinella hunting and fishing for ingredients to recipes from Escoffier's 1903 classic Le Guide Culinaire, culminating in the cooking of 45 courses over three days.
Just finished The Martian (Recommended) and Omaha Beach (Joseph Balkoski).
If anyone wants a comprehensive book on Omaha Beach look no further then Balkoski. He is a fantastic writer and I would recommend his D-Day books over all of the others I have read. Very descriptive with first hand accounts and maps of the events.
About to start Lights Out by Ted Kopel.
