He's still ripping the joint at age 70. Look at Keith Richards, 69. With all the vitamins he took during his career he's still rocking it too!

First saw the Stones at the Hollywood bowl in the summer of '66. Seen 'em many times since. Still a GREAT rock and roll band today...maybe the greatest ever!

Stones was once a great band. I think pieces like Exile on main St, Goats head soap, Sticky Fingers and specially Beggars Banquet are landmarks in history.
The music might still be 'ok' but, imho, they should have stopped long ago. And not only them, there are far too many bands trying to get back.

It's not so simple after all. they keep coming as long as there's audience, old farts of my generation, trying to get back to their younger days. And they have the money the spend for the gigantic tickets for Stones and those. Not my piece of cake.

Springsteen has always been 'the king' for me. Thunder road was almost like from the lives of wifey and i back then when i still had my Dodge Monaco 69. Damn it's almost 30 years ago. 'Days run away like wild horses over the hills' (Bukowski)

I've seen him twice but i promise if he's still around here, playing, 20 years from now, i wont be willing to see him again. I'm rather very dissapointed.

Getting back on the subject, not Stones, i was so sorry to hear Johnny Cash in his latest recordings. country is not maybe my kind of music but i was so sorry to see an old man, probably out of the map, used this way. Probably just to make good profit for record company investigators. The songs were maybe ok but i had this devil lurkin over my shoulders whispering about if he really knew what he was doing.

Remember the old song, Celluloid heroes?

Everybodys a dreamer and everybodys a star,
And everybodys in movies, it doesnt't't matter who you are.
There are stars in every city,
In every house and on every street,
And if you walk down hollywood boulevard
Their names are written in concrete!

Don't step on greta garbo as you walk down the boulevard,
She looks so weak and fragile that's why she tried to be so hard
But they turned her into a princess
And they sat her on a throne,
But she turned her back on stardom,
Because she wanted to be alone.

You can see all the stars as you walk down hollywood boulevard,
Some that you recognise, some that youve hardly even heard of,
People who worked and suffered and struggled for fame,
Some who succeeded and some who suffered in vain.
Rudolph valentino, looks very much alive,
And he looks up ladies dresses as they sadly pass him by.
    Avoid stepping on bela lugosi
Cos he's liable to turn and bite,
But stand close by bette davis
Because hers was such a lonely life.
If you covered him with garbage,
George sanders would still have style,
And if you stamped on mickey rooney
He would still turn round and smile,
But please don't tread on dearest marilyn
    Cos she's not very tough,
She should have been made of iron or steel,
But she was only made of flesh and blood.

You can see all the stars as you walk down hollywood boulevard,
Some that you recognise, some that youve hardly even heard of.
People who worked and suffered and struggled for fame,
Some who succeeded and some who suffered in vain.

Everybodys a dreamer and everybodys a star
And everybodys in show biz, it doesnt't't matter who you are.

    And those who are successful,
    Be always on your guard,
Success walks hand in hand with failure
    Along hollywood boulevard.

I wish my life was a non-stop hollywood movie show,
A fantasy world of celluloid villains and heroes,
Because celluloid heroes never feel any pain
And celluloid heroes never really die.

Oh celluloid heroes never feel any pain
Oh celluloid heroes never really die.

I bounced for Kieth Richards bckk in the late 80's.. Looked and smelled like a homeless person. Until they put him on stage and he came alive... Once the lights and curtain came down he turne back into a homeless person... Wierd..

Without the Stones and the stage maybe he didnt have a real life, or maybe the heroin was wearing off.

He is prominent in a DVD on Chuck Berry, one of the best rock documentaries I've seen, called Hail Hail Rock and Roll. You can tell he is stoned out of his mind through the entire thing.

Amazon.com: Chuck Berry - Hail! Hail! Rock N' Roll (Four-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition): Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Ingrid Berry, Robert Cray, Bo Diddley, Ahmet Ertegun, Don Everly, Phil Everly, Etta James, Johnnie Johnson
