Ok, I'll bite & pick up some AMB here in a day or two to compare the two. I agree that Gold Bond has a smell that isn't the most pleasant.
@WP34: Yep, I'm a "hoghead" too, on the Kiamichi Railroad, a company of Genesee & Wyoming...been at it for about 7 years now.

I thought so...;)
I have a lot of good memories of the 'old days'...before the change from 16 hours to the 12 hour law. Working 15:59 and coming back out in 8 hours to run again. Feed valving a train down a heavy grade before Dynamic braking...listening to the stories of the old steam engine guys...

Balla Powder - its good stuff.
Balla Powder For Men.
Picked up some Anti Monkey Butt at Walmart, will give a comparison this evening after I shower & "powder"...
Love the stuff, no babboon butt for me! :rofl2:
It's called Balla...yeah, I know it's lame. The description says it protects against the dreaded batwing...:ziplip: Good stuff, and smells good. There is a spray they sell called "drygoods", but man that stuff goes on cooooold! :dropjaw:
Balla Powder for Men
Dry Goods Athletic Spray Powder
Here you go:
Gold Bond Ingredients (all kinds of stuff):
Talc, Menthol, Zinc Oxide, Acacia, Eucalyptol, Salicylic Acid, Thymol
Anti Monkey Butt Ingredients:
Talc, Calamine Powder, Fragrance
Key ingredient to both is the talc, which is good as us men don't need to be powdering the boys with baby powder as the starch just feeds the bacteria. If you have or have had jock itch, you know that this is a bad thing like gasoline on a fire.
From Wikipedia: Calamine is either a mixture of zinc oxide (ZnO) with about 0.5% ferric oxide (Fe2O3) or a zinc carbonate compound. It is the main ingredient in calamine lotion and is used as an anti-pruritic (anti-itching agent, attributed to the presence of phenol in the formulation) to treat mild pruritic conditions such as sunburn, eczema, rashes, poison ivy, poison oak, chickenpox, and insect bites and stings. It is also used as a mild antiseptic to prevent infections that can be caused by scratching the affected area, and an astringent to dry weeping or oozing blisters and acne abscesses.
I have to say that the AMB smells better IMO & the active ingredients (besides the menthol) are about the same. I guess I will be using this a bit more, thanks for giving me the nudge!
I use anti monkey butt in the lower region when I'm working to stop chafing with the sweat and wearing a harness all day. It works great. I bought my wife the women's but she don't need it, it was more for a joke. But we also use it on my son who is 2 and it works better than any baby powder on the market. And he likes it because of the monkey.
