Thanked: 15Monkey Butt!
I've always used Gold Bond or plain corn starch. If I had known about this when the kids were in diapers you can bet it would have been in the diaper bag for grandma to find!LOL

Thanked: 1936I've wondered about this stuff, as I powder the lower region with Gold Bond. I have had jock itch before and found out the hard way that corn starch actually feeds the bacteria, talc doesn't. Most of our locomotive seats are vinyl, like my bike & the heat really can leave you with a damp/wet tail-end. Do you have experience with Monkeybutt vs. Gold bond?

Thank you and God Bless, Scott

i was in ace hardware a while ago and saw the monkey butt. i work in a hot environment and dislike the chafing intensely, so i brought some up to the register, where a young teenage girl was working. now, i'm always writing a movie about my life in my head, so i said to her, in the movie this is where you have to pick up the phone and make the page, Can someone in hardware get me a price on the monkey butt powder?
the stuff worked as advertised. i have an issue with the smells that are incorporated into products, especially gold bond. going commando seems to work. eta...one can always apply a light schmear of zinc oxide in anticipation of irritation. i figure if it works for diaper rash.....

Hey Shooter! I take it by your post that you work on the RR? I used to be a 'Hoghead' for the Southern Pacific back in the 70's -80's. Worked the Colton to Yuma run hauling freight across the desert... and also the Tehachapi Loop run on the UP. So...I know all about 'Monkey Butt'! LOL!
Back in those days...the old 'Steam' guys told me as a young fireman that wearing loose fitting overalls 'commando' was the way to go. Plenty of 'draft' available that way. That always worked for me...that and occasionally a little zinc oxide.

I watched a documentary this summer called Mansome, which explored contemporary male grooming. One of the people featured was a guy developing a powder for the front side.

I've been using that stuff on hot and nasty days for the least couple of years. It's wonderful.

3B's cream is good for sweat rash too, in the summer I use supermarket brand talc/baby powder as a preventative and the cream if a rash flairs up.
Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast
