    Default The Big Haul

So the big day is over and now you get to play with your new toys and we all want to know what you got. So, spill the beans.

I got a lump of coal.

I had a perfect day. No muss, no fuss. On Xmas day a friend and I drove around trying to find a store that would sell him some long Q-tips. Drove about 2 hours and did not find any!
    Very relaxing.

We have had a very trying last quarter. Lots of loss and misery in the family. However I have always been the optimist. My mother died in September but through that I became reconciled with my brother whom I have been estranged from for years.

I am reminded of a line from a Christmas song by J D McPherson, "Take a real good look around and suddenly I see. It's not even Christmas yet and I've got all the gifts I need."

This year Christmas was very low key. We exchanged presents and enjoyed each other's company then went out for duck at the Chinese restaurant.

Christmas day I worked like I always do. Hey, it would make some of you sick if you knew what they are willing to pay me to work on a holiday. LOL.
The Wife and I had our Christmas the evening of Tuesday the 26th after I got home from work. That was my Friday. She made a nice diner and we open presents. No kids around. I'd have to say the best thing I got was some warm PJs.

My previous post notwithstanding, I did buy myself an H. Böker 7 day set.
