I have no control over the TV. That is a device that is the domain of woman, children and men with soft minds :) . I watch very little of it and really do not get into series or drama shows.... watching paint dry is more interesting. :)

I'm a bit like Jim here. I don't watch that much. I usually try to find a movie to watch of an evening, after the kids and the wife are finished with the T.V. I do follow a couple of series, but they are set to record for when time allows me to watch them. It usually takes me up to three episodes tops, to decide if I like it or not, and then that is no guarantee that I will follow it for more than a season.
Current series being watched are 'Arrow' and 'Sleepy Hollow'. 'Once upon a time' didn't last me more than five episodes before I was board with it and 'Game of Thrones' is viewed due to peer pressure and gratuitous nudity and violence only. If I missed any more episodes I wouldn't be at a loss at all, as it is rather mind numbing.

Haven't watched any "network" stuff other than the local news and weather in ages. ;)
For me, its just two. I'll give the first one a chance. But if the second one doesn't entertain - I'm out.
Just waiting for the new season of Game of Thrones. Honestly I still miss Eureka.
I watch sports mostly, but caught the pilot of Sleepy Hollow on the DVR. Pretty cool, so far.............................
I don't really watch broadcast tv or cable. I don't have cable/satellite and I can only pickup one station with my antenna, and that only barely. I mainly watch on Netflix or Amazon and occasionally on Hulu. However when watching a new show on any of those it really depends. If the first episode cannot hold my interest at all, its dumped right there. If it isn't great but I see promise, then it is evaluated episode by episode. Some nominal shows I'll keep watching hoping they finally make good on the little bit of promise they show, others though I eventually decide there isn't enough good to hope for that overcomes the crap.
The wife and I just watched the first 2 episodes, she liked it, I was honing, but it was good enough to make me stop a few times and watch closer, has promise...
Honestly the show that gave me the idea for the thread was "The Blacklist" I really want to like it, it has real potential, but I sure hope it gets a bit more intriguing otherwise it might not stay on the DVR :)
Usually get a feeling from the first ep. 3-5 eps I know for sure.
I keep expecting that guy on Sleepy Hollow to say his name is Ichabod Mudd with 2 d's.
My wife watches TV. I read books. I've seen more episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" than I ever thought I would have to be exposed to and know far more about the Kardashians than I want to. TV makes reading fun.
Eh, for me it's three, but I'll say I definitely want to be wowed by the third episode if the first two aren't so great.
Then there are those that grab you in the first few minutes. I caught on to Walking dead after the first season hit Netflix. It was about 10:45 at night on a Friday, SWMBO and the boy were already asleep, but I was wide awake. I started looking for something good and new to watch. Saw the show, figured "Hey, zombies!" and fired up the first episode. At about 2:00 a.m. I knew I should go to bed, but I just couldn't stop watching...
I've had similar experiences with "Suits" and "White Collar" on the lighter side of things, and "Revolution" on the darker side.
