The finger will heal just fine. What put the wind up me, was that I almost carved the side off my other hands swearing finger, when I was cleaning the knife, after slicing into the pad of the first finger. I was lucky in that it, said swearing finger, was protected by a single layer of tea-towel which bore the brunt of the stroke, and in doing so, saved me from further damage. it was at that point I told myself to leave the kitchen for the night and let the wife take over for a change. :)

Well it seems that I just don't learn so good. Several years ago my family and I were in Canada for a vaction/'Holiday' as it's referred to there/trust me you pick up the lingo really quick including the 'eh'. Only takes a few days of talking to the locals.

Anyway we were staying with some friends who lived not far from Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump (Wonderful Historical Site) (see link below) and we were paying for the groceries that were being consumed as payback for allowing us to be able to use their lovely home, hot water etc.

I went to purchase some groceries and wanted to pay with my Debit Card, the clerk asked for my ID and I gladly gave it to him. He looked at it and then at me to confirm that the picture on my driver's license was indeed me and he handed the card back and said, that's you all right but do you know that it's expired?

Sure as hell it was over a week overdue.

Here I am driving in a foreign country driving with an expired license!!!!

That was about 10 years ago. Guess What??

I had an appointment with my dental office today for a 'cleaning' and the gal looked at my records and said "Hey" Happy Belated Birthday"! Then it Dawned ON Me! I'd gotten a notice about renewing my driver's license about 2 months ago. DAMN!!

I've since renewed online and have the 'temp' is now in my wallet.

Oh Well, as Forest Gump used to quote his mother "Stupid is as Stupid Does"! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Here's the Link to Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump I'm not a 'touristy guy' but this in one site I'd like to go back and see again!

Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site

They have documented that his site was used for over 6000 years but for about 1000 it wasn't used and no one knows why. They did a Wonderful job of incorporating the building into the sandstone. I may be mistaken but the building is about 3-4 stories tall and as you will see, it looks like you just walk into a single level.

If you get a chance to visit please do, as I've said; it's one of the very few 'tourist' places that I'd gladly spend the money to go see again. :tu

I'm curious about the name Roy. How did it come about? Do you know?
