Responding tonight to a phone survey and the last question was do I live with a disability. I responded, "if being smart at the wrong times is a disability, then yes, I live with a disability."

Ahhhh, the memories! We were the playground equipment!
Oh Yeah, in elementary school playing tackle football without a ball and pads..Well, that is what looked like! Called "Pom Pom Pullaway."
"Come on out or we'll pull you away" Two teams one of blockers/ tacklers across the middle of the field The idea was for the other team to get past them to the other end of the field. Usually a half hour recess was enough to change teams a couple times. Bandaides could be obtained if necessary..no one I knew ever had a problem requiring a nurse. Still got the scars! Oh yeah, from 1st to eighth grade on the field at the same time!
Had to be really tough to survive the "menopausal penguins" of a parochial school!
THANKS, YES GEEZER CAN RELATE!
Up here, the recess bloodsport was called British bulldog.
Split into two teams, use a soccer ball. Throw overhand, underhand, whatever to chase down and try to clobber an opposing player. If they catch and keep the ball you are out, if it bounces off them as they scream, they are out, till there is only one.
Repeat...
Ahh good times.
Our equivalent was much less organized. No teams, just all against one. The game was Smear The Queer. One guy would grab (or be involuntarily thrown) a hat or ball or whatever and everyone else tried to tackle him. Usually 5 to 10 ended up on the pile. Blood and bruising were common.
Once into High School and P.E. (Physical Education) Dodge Ball was a favorite 'sport' in which to extract pain and punishment--especially on an individual who wasn't (Shall We Say) 'Popular'.
I remember dodge ball very well, luckily for me ,my dad was the CO at the base!
We played smear the queer too. Lots of fun and memories there.
Ahhhh memories!!!!
