The Fisher is an omnivorous animal they eat many things including mushrooms fruits and berries plus they are one of the only animals that hunt Porcupine so when you say they need to be culled I'm more than sceptical regarding your claims, I myself kept and worked hunting Dogs for many years so I'm definitely someone who's for hunting and conservation they go hand in glove I just don't believe certain species need to be kept under control including the Fisher I would love to see some official government data where it says the Fisher needs control I would say It's purely an unprotected species that people can take out during the hunting season no other real reason.

Here in our state of New Hampshire , NH Fish & Game has set the bag limit of (5) and only the Month of Dec for trapping Fisher....Other States have a lottery system for only ( 1 ) and other states have NO Limit. We as trappers have to fill out fur reports on our catch each year so F&G have some accurate data to set limits. We have Bob Cat in NH...but Fish and Games says Bob Cats are protected...and we as trappers avoid deadly sets for them....and the cats caught in footholds are released unharmed. Fish & Game knows what their doing.

Yes trapping is allowed and you can hunt Red Deer shoot foxes trap and shoot Mink Rabbits many species of Wildfowl, you can no longer hunt Foxes with Dogs or Hounds and you can own Firearms and Shotguns but the licensing laws are far more strict than the USA, say you wanted a Shotgun for hunting you would need a fully fixed and bolted gun cabinet, plus another fixed and bolted ammo box, then you would need written permission from a landowner or syndicate shoot before they would consider granting you a license then you would need a Doctor or someone of high standing in the community to rubber stamp your application then after a home visit from the local Police department you might just get your gun license now that's what it takes.

Guns...Here you go to the store...buy what you like...go home.

But I hear you all have better beer in Wales though, so it's kind of a trade off

Use a catch pole around its neck and pin his head to the ground ..then with your feet...step on the levers of the trap to release the foot. Then gently release the catch pole and slowly step back...at first the cat won't even move...then it will run off..no harm done. Iam sure You-tube has some videos on it . Ohhhh ...it's a rush !!!!!!!
