Hi Johnny,

There are only two places I know of that sell Trumpers here in Oz, but if others know of more please jump in and let us all know.

Just a quick price match between the two I see that the alum bar is vastly cheaper at Ludlows, maybe worth checking out a bit more extensively. I have been buying my stuff from Ludlows, but their range seems to have changed because I cannot see the Coral Skin food anymore, but perhaps they would be worth contacting.

In regard to razors I would be buying from one of our members here as it will have to be honed etc before it is shave ready, this maybe despite what any sales person is trying to tell you that they are shave ready straight out of the box so to speak.

There are lots of vendors here who would be only to happy to help you make a selection. Tony Miller at http://shop.thewellshavedgentleman.com/splashPage.hg jumps immediately to mind because he has great starter kits which include all the essentials for starting out from scratch. IE Razors, hanging strops, paddle strops, brushes etc etc the whole kit and caboodle. And his quality you will not better anywhere, all for a very fair price.

Hopefully this will get you going, but be warned, this is a very addictive thing you are getting into, and life as you know it will never be the same again, and neither will your bank balance. :D

I did a search after I posted the last message and found those 2 you mentioned in your reply. I see that they are very similar, except the pirce difference you mentioned.

It seems that the soaps that i am after especially are around the same price. Is there anything else I should try from this range (I mean from Trumper). When I had my wetshave ad Trumper in London I remember they used some kind of after shave balm.

I have tried to read a few of the threads here, and as you say it is quite addictive and more I read, more I get curious about things. So I will continue reading and then note down any questions that might come up.

I can only guess but would assume it would have been either the Coral Skin food, or the Extract of Lime skin food. I can certainly vouch for the Coral skin food, I being one that tends to have oily skin find that the Coral just sinks in with no greasy after effect. It's wonderful stuff :) , but I'm sure others can tell you their thoughts on the Extract of limes.

Looking at the Trumpers website, I think you are right. I have a sort of memory that it was something Limes, so I think it must have been Extract of Limes Skin food as you mentioned.

I have now put in an order for that and also for some soaps from artofman.com.au, and I look forward to receiving it to try it out more.
