As I wrote to my friend Tc via email; On occasion I am forced to be a checker in a corporate grocery store and I find it Very Rude when a customer is talking on a cell phone about Piddly Crap instead of paying attention to the transaction. While I do not have, need, want, crave or desire a cell phone those that do need to use some courtesy when they use it.

Handy in the building industry, before that there would only be a site phone. 1 phone, 50 people on site. My smart phone has taken the place of my watch, alarm clock, diary etc. Having said that, I think they are having an effect on the way people, especially young ones, interact with other people.
I have a smart phone, mainly used for checking soccer scores when Im out and ebay stuff when at work on break, I suppose you could count on one hand how many times I use it as per week. Oh and since owning a dog 6 months ago I have taken a lot of pictures of the dog, come in handy carrying a half decent camera around.
I could live without mine but I could see it happening.
Went to HOOPS, a sports bar Saturday night, sat next to a large table of 2 families, as the adults talked at one end of the table, their 4 kids all had electonic devices in their hands, 1 of the kids was like 5 years old.
