It is about -9 with a windchill of about -27 by me right now.
Global warming is real.... it has nothing to do with a low temperature in the middle of winter..... average temperatures for the year, for the past 30+ years have been increasing. But yea it's cold outside.
I just got back from smoking out in the front yard. Barefoot in shorts with no shirt. Global warming is real . Actually they are tampering with the weather so we get no weather and the east gets it all. They are so wise !
Cheer up Dave could be worse. We are currently at -18F with wind chill feels like -33F. I think exposed skin can get frostbite in 10 minutes or so. Bundle up and stay warm.
Bob
Well, I'll step out and have a smoke and let you know if I feel better about your more colder...Bet I won't lol.
We have -15* C here right now.
The winter is the only time we get to be the hot spot in Canada. Warm ish in the winter and coolish in the summer. I love my always very moderate climate. I never freeze and I never burn up, just right all the time, well most of the time. I see the weather reports for across North America all the time and I have to say I'm with you, there are reasons I live here. Oh i watch the traffic reports on western Canadian cities too. Our Canadian cities are very small I can't imagine New York or LA or London or Paris. That stuff is all messed up. As Crocodile Dundee said, must be a friendly bunch, 8 million of them all wanting to live together.
Well, we have dropped to -33C with the wind chill feeling like -42C. Cold water shave still felt good this morning.
Bob
I feel the struggle guys. I am freezing here. The low today is only 46F and the high is 70F with clear skies and bright sun. I might have to wear a hoodie today!!!!!
Bobs practically at the North pole in Thunder bay. Bet the snowmobiling and ice fishing is terrific there.
-26c with the wind chill here today. It's a beautiful day though, suns out and I'm heading to the parents for coffee and Baileys!!!!!
Is 40 degs in my shop right now,am wearing my silk t-shirt, fur hat, polar Fleese top and bottom, wool socks and my Uggs and I am freezing.
Do not know how you Guys can stand that cold weather.
I typically wear a lot of wool.

-9f at my house right not. Not sure what the wind chill is, but it is COLD! But it is not going to get in the way of a trip to Tim Hortons!!!
I hate winter, (I'd rather sweat than freeze), but right now in Walla Walla it's only 38 and it feels like it's 38 and it's supposed to be sunny and up to 55 which is a heat wave.
While I've never heard Any of my Canadian Brothers complain about the cold, I hope they all will enjoy this;

The Washington Post
The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen , Norway .
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.
Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

I must apologize, I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post - 93 years ago.
Well, not really near the North Pole but our winters here are more like what Winterpeg and Regina get but with less snow usually than southern Ontario. Snowmobiling is OK but not as good as it was 2 or 3 decades ago. Never did know what to do with all that ice I caught ice fishing.
The bright spot is a trip to Tims this aft for coffee and conversation which unfortunately does not include any Baileys. Only another month or so before it starts really warming up.
Bob
I moved south for the frozen water pipes.
Let's see some thermometers, 8:00am here in Baden.

Luckily we don't have any thermometers to remind us but I use this instead Thunder Bay, Ontario - 7 Day Weather Forecast - The Weather Network .
Bob
the good thing about this weather is that all seem to hiding indoors.
My friends and I are practically alone out here on Manhattan.
no lines, no nothing.
Cool stuff.
if it gets much colder though, I might have to consider more than just jeans when out and about...
Am a weather watching fanatic, always have been, but I like to watch it from inside the house:)

It was -11f here again this morning. My car is NOT happy about the weather the past few days, but continues to plug along.
What IS exciting is that in the past couple hours, the temp has skyrocketed to 0!!!!
I need more Tim Hortons coffee...
It was 12*F this morning for my walk to work. There was little wind so it was quite nice.
Here in Toronto right now we have he coldest day of the year, -25 to -35 with the wind chill, but I don't mind as we have a clear blue sky and a good sun - even for me though, as I'm generally immune to the cold, find it bone biting cold, step outside and it hits you immediately, takes your breath away.
It is so dry, I figured out why I have been having some trouble lathering lately, I looked at my brushes, and they feel dessicated. So last three shaves I have been soaking them in water for about ten minutes prior, something I should be doing anyhow I figure, but never had to do before.:D
San Diego is cold as well. Its 60 outside.
Yes those temps at the southern end of the province are unusual, more like what we do get at our end. I found that southern Ontario has high humidity and when you combine that with high or low temps makes it even worse. Luckily it is usually drier up here too. Could be worse, we could be enjoying wave after wave of Nor Easter storms sweeping the Eastern seaboard of North America. At least we haven't had continuous huge dumps of snow to deal with along with the cold. I feel bad for the Maritimers.
Bob
It started at about midnight with freezing rain. Now we have about 4 inches (about 10cm) of snow. And it is supposed to keep snowing until late tonight. For you Yanks, that's no big deal, but here in the south, we are shutdown. :chapeau
No cold water shaving today!
I'm not sure where you were going with this, at first you say global warming is hogwash, then you post this article, which is very clearly stating that global warming is real. Did you read the whole article? Here is the last paragraph...
