I flunked my first DMV physical a week or so ago. The nurse practitioner says I might need hearing aids so I can't drive a big rig until I get tested. I laughed and said it's because when I get in a truck the first thing I do is roll up the windows, drop in a Pink Floyd CD and turn it up so loud I can barely feel the truck moving.
Doesn't make me feel older though. It's just 1 of a very few things I have not guarded as far as my health goes. When I did start to use hearing protection back when I was younger the tinnitus drove me nuts not to mention all hear protection back then gave me a head ache or ear ache to some degree.
I am my own experiment and bet. As I get older I am winning. Now as long as I can hear that bus coming :<0)

As was said in QoftD " I am at an age where 'getting lucky' means I can enter a room..and remember what i came for!"
And "Mike" you should try this new antibiotic...Set you free!
I do know that in some other time and place I would have been dead many times over by now. I would have had a lot fewer chances to try and either succeed or fail, and I have done both many times and mayhap a few more.
Getting old means "We ain't dead yet!

In the end you can complain all you want about aging however you know what the alternative is.
