Great work!-------------But what's new :tu
I will say that I'm surprised to see that you trusted the cat to not batting the pieces around :w
Damn cat,,!!
Kept getting in the way and I kept gently putting her down on the floor. After a while, she just settled in so I went with it.
:tu
How does the cat get along with Buddy?
Pete <:-}
Damn, Mike. You really are a mad scientist.!! That's pretty deep, for my pay level.
Mechanical Mantle and wall clocks are cool!
:tu
Buddy and this black cat get along* fine. The smaller tabby, not so much, but this one is very dog like. Her dad was Siamese and she’s very vocal and dopey..
Im going to take a stab at it and say yes. It was a 50/50 shot. No idea what it means. Lol.
I do enjoy clocks and thank you for remembering. But they are large. Not like a watch. I do good just to change the battery in a watch.
I do electronic repairs too but i dont do SMT. Too damn small!
So this one is in line with the Victorian heyday of straight razors so I figured I'd share.
Got a referral from a carpenter friend to a guy who owns a Victorian era house in the historic district built in 1880.

He rents rooms in it and needs individual keys for the tenants but wants to keep it as authentic as possible. The doors already had bit key (the correct term for what is colloquially known as a skeleton key) mortise locks (a lock, the body of which isb"mortised" into the door) but they were likely original to the house and showing significant wear and age plus someone attempted a remodel and switched out the original trim for what I'm sure they thought was more decorative. Unfortunately it was incompatible with the keys needed to work them.

Notice the patent dates.
Additionally keys for these are not readily available like what most people are used to where you go to a locksmith shop or hardware store, hand them the key and zip, zip they duplicate it. These all have to be hand made unless you have a huge back stock of keys which have been out of production for at least 40 years. Anyway, fortunately there are companies that still make these locks keyed differently with keys that can be ordered by the numbers so I helped guide the homeowner to decide to go with that option.

They are similar in size and configuration to the original and the holes were already mortised into the door which one would think would make life easier... BUT...if you have ever tried to drill a hole next to a hole you know that sometimes it is easier to start from scratch than to move or change a prep.
