I don't know the particulars of the game or whatever it is, but am I to understand that there are characters in particular locations that are captured on the phone?
If so, then I would assume that there already are powers that be who are manipulating, or are willing to be paid to manipulate, the specific locations of the characters.

I'm not into pokemon, never have been, and unlikely to change on that front so I think it's pretty safe to say it ain't for me. But what the hell. If it gets people up and moving around, it can't be all bad. Just keep your heads up guys! I don't want to read any in memoriam threads here of SPR members who have been squished by a bus, stumbled off a bridge, or wandered into a bushwhack whilst pursuing a virtual collection of 1s and 0s. :)

We are having a discussion on a forum dedicated to our local town and suburbs. The topic of Pokemon Go came up and the comment below just typifies why California has some of the stupidest laws in the Nation.

I wasn't the only to call her out on her ridiculous idea. The rest of the community followed suite with me and called her out on her ludicrous comment to ban a game. This so typifies the mindset of so many fringe voters in Cali. Soon we will be burnings books again...

This is generally why I dislike most people. I don't even try to contact most of my friends anymore. We'd go out for a beer or 4 and they are all so absorbed in their phones that their beers get warm. I'm a chatty man with the right people and proper socialization is essentially gone.Quote:

I spent about 30 min the other night watching two drunk people running around trying to catch one. Its getting almost as bad as texting and driving with that app. I know people that almost got into accidents because of it. There was also a little kid hit because of it.
I have no shame. I'm playing it and I'm enjoying it.
No shame in playing it. There are enough people out in my town that I actually have to dodge crowds while I'm running. I much prefer that to the ghost town that it was prior. Families are even doing it together. I think it's a net positive.Quote:
