    Default Saw Cuba Gooding Jr.!!!!

Hey, was about downtown Toronto this afternoon at an off-site meeting, forgot Toronto International Film Festival was going on, and walked right past Cuba Gooding Jr.!!

Weird, you recognize the person, so you think it's a buddy or colleague, then you realize it's not, I had nodded, smiled and said, "Hey", and then laughed and said, "Sorry, I recognize you but you're not one of my buddies...sorry!", or some star struck response...he laughed, nodded and I kept walking.

Took a pic of him from across the street....cool!

Perfectly CDN low key response buddy.
Afaik, a lot of the stars like our less than star struck reactions up here. We acknowledge them and all, just less fanfare and screaming..
Loved Cuba in Jerry Maguire, btw.

    Cool reaction.

Seeing a star like that is a lot like running into a friend in a wildly unexpected place. While stationed on Oahu, I ran into a buddy from high school. We both stopped dead in our tracks with a "are you who I think you are?" look.

In the early 80's, I saw the wrestler Ric Flair in an airport. He was in character, but still approachable. It was awesome.

I wonder how many times someone has walked up to Gooding and yelled" Show me the money"?

I almost walked into a Hall of Fame baseball player because I was looking at his wife. I won't name names.

I once encountered Spiro Agnew at the airport when I went to pick up my father.

    He was a real gentleman.

The first time that I saw Cary Elwes and Morgan Freeman I had no idea who they were. It did dawn on me sometime later though.

Met Ted Williams when I was a kid.
    He was larger than life.
