With all this rain here in saint louis the fish won't be biting for a week or two. Can't even go to work with all the road and highway closures. Last year at the farm quite a few good catfish

Just got back from our annual 'first week of May' trip to Lake Powell. Our group of ~20 bagged up 632 Walleye for the week. Our previous record was 440 but there were only 16 of us on that trip.
FYI, Walleye and striped bass are not native to Lake Powell so no limits are imposed.
Next Wednesday is the start of my annual spring fishing trip. We go for Crappies and the scenery before the lakes get busy.
I was doing good not thinking of Friday as the last day before a weeks vacation until I read this thread...............
On the bright side, that's still about 32 fish a person, up from around 27 or 28 a person.Quote:

I can amputate the tip and use the rod still. It'll just be 5 inches shorter than it was. So I don't even get the pleasure of buying a new pole. That carbon fiber seemed old an brittle though, it may not be long before I can really justify an upgrade.
