Well, that is inflation for you. I have seen old ads for SRs at $0.75 to $2.00 but a new one ain't that now either. More than enough people pay the going rate today to pay the mega bucks out to Hollywood people. Times change and people don't.

If it wasn't for Directv how I am going to watch all the football games or watch Married with Children? I agree Rodger, but it is us giving it to them by watching. And just a few weeks ago when Johnny Depp asked how long it's been since an actor has assasinated a president then he said " I,m paid to lie". Tc
As of late I take virtually anything said by celebrities in regard to politics as counter to the majority of the U.S. citizenry, myself included. Specifically when celebrities have been sounding off that the current admin is bad for "us" (ie the country), celebrities leading the charge against the repeal of Obamacare because doing so would be bad for "us"...., etc.
Nationally recognized successful celebrities, news anchors, etc make millions. They're part of the 1% even if they down play that fact (Michael Moore is a great example of that). They are undeniably part of the elite, the upper echelon. They also undeniably rub elbows with others in the upper echelon continuously. In "normal" times when an establishment politician of either party holds the highest office of the land, celebrities, news anchors, etc remain in that strata of society.
Enter a non-establishment non-politician outsider as president who is not part of that "machine". He is a direct threat to that strata of society and to those people. He's potentially rocking their world and upsetting their gilded apple carts.
I don't see the loud cry of opposition proclaimed by celebrities or the MSM as being a mouthpiece for all of us by any stretch. I instead see it all as entirely self serving on their part and therefore in my opinion, bogus.
When was the last time any of you vacationed in an exotic locale on a billion dollar yacht owned by a media mogul? Tom Hanks and Bruce Springsteen did. I know I haven't.
I think opposing views to the current admin would have a lot more value if the media combed the country talking with average citizens about THEIR views and THEIR stories as to why they oppose the current admin. Hearing continuous blather and vitriol by the likes of Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, Tom Hanks, Cher, Madonna, most any news anchor, etc? Doesn't ring true to me at all.
One man's opinion....
Yes please. Tc

I tend to keep my big bag of salt grains within close reach whenever anybody says or does anything with regards to politics.
