I'm okay with cute deer attacking foreigners. I'm just concerned that they might go after Americans next.

On the ground in one piece. If anyone cares. Ha. The air is heavy and hazy. A lot different in CA compared to CO.

Shooting a 4 bore stopping rifle will rattle your teeth for sure. Always impressive.

Elkins WV. Im home again.!! To my bloodline
When I worked as a gunsmith, but It escapes me now.... there was a rifle scope manufacturer (80s) that used a 4 bore for testing their scopes/mounts. Redfield comes to mind, but it was likely someone else.
[edit]: I'm pretty sure it was Burris, now that I think of it.
If I am not mistaken, the picture I posted is of a .600 Nitro Express cartridge and there is still the .700 Nitro Express to go. It kinds smarts when you yank the trigger on one of those. :rofl2:
I remember we took photos when we test fired a 460 Weatherby Magnum, the fellow we got to do the testing stood a solid 6' tall and weighed the north side of 200lbs. We captured him during full recoil and his hair all pointed straight forward. After the shot, he grinned and asked for another shell, but at the cost, even back then, we declined.
Personally, I am a big believer in sectional density.... so make mine a VW. It may not have the highest velocity, but it sure has knockdown power!
My bad, you are absolutely correct that you posted a photo of a 600 Nitro Express. That same photo turned up when I did a search for 4 bore cartridges and I did not check the source image which was tagged 600 Nitro Express. Knew it had to a British stopping round by the look of it.

The 4 Bore Stopping Guns served a purpose. This is just madness!

:dropjaw:
Their trying to reform me back from being in Ohio too long. Being here again with family members is really good for me and my soul. Haven't been hear since 1984, and the stories of times past being shared with everyone, hasn't slowed down one bit. Its been a day of tears laughter and joy. Putting family in the ground sucks, but their back home where they belong. John Denver couldn't have said it better. Home sweet home..WV

He definitely lived a long full life God Speed
we had a great trip down memory lane just last week too, had to find a spot down at the Meramec river in franklin county Mo. where my dad grew up, took my mom too to propose(and who knows what) that he wanted ashes scattered at, after we took him to the cemetary to be laid by his mom. he was just a couple weeks from 91, he did have a long life and interesting life. ,, I feel your loss Mike,, Tc
My condolences for you loss.
Really nice.
That's beautiful, Roy.
As they say. Gone, but never forgotten.
That's life eternal..
I know Dave started this as the 'Wordless Picture Thread' but I'll Hijack it just a bit. :HJ
The stone was designed by my oldest daughter. She was mom and dad's first grandchild and was indeed 'the favorite', not only was she born first but the others lived in different cities and she lived only 2 or 3 miles away.
She spoke at mom's services and said that mom had raised her as a daughter, not a granddaughter.
As the stone says-- "Your Life Goes On In Each of Us". My daughter's children.
Enough said:
