Yes, there were a couple neighbors on Nextdoor who said that 2 guys knocked on their door but they were cautious & didn't answer. I think they did the right think. They were in a boat & had flashlights & could have been out to rob people & to take advantage of flood victims.Quote:

Absolutely! You cant help them all. But if your in the area, grab up a family and feed them and give them a good nights rest. That goes a long way. Otherwise, just be careful who you donate too. These groups steal a lot of money and make a killing 8n times like this. Pisses me off! Ive donated to red cross. I know they are good people. Everyone should do all you can to help. Even if its just the change in your pocket. Do what you can as these folks have lost so much or all. Breaks my heart!Quote:

It's okay Jerry, there are so many people with different scams these days to try & fill their pockets. Scammers have changed ways of doing things because some get caught at the old game so they think of new ways to get your hard earned money!

New one that is emerging more as I age.
Packing for a trip this afternoon. All razors and shaving supplies are no problem as everything is ready in my Dopp kit. Looking for my travel Bourbon flask. EVERYWHERE. Can't find it. I'm sure I "put it someplace handy" so I could find it, but lord knows WHERE that handy place is.
So my new emerging pet peeve, putting something somewhere so you have it handy, and then not being able to find it when you need it.

Then it is usually right under your nose or so close that if it were a snake, it would have bit ya several times. I've done it & I hate it. I then have to trace my steps backwards & then I'll find whatever it is I was looking for. One thing that bugs me the most is when I have a tool like a wrench or something & get sidetracked & lay it down.Quote:

So it was 7 years later when I decided to play again with that original set. Opened the storage area of the golf bag to check on number of golf balls and there was the Tag Heuer. 7 years later.
Until I found the watch in the golf bag I had absolutely NO recollection of having taken it off and putting it in the golf bag. No recollection whatsoever. Since then, I haven't touched a golf club in 10 years or so. But I've not lost a wristwatch either since then!

I was verging on hungry that week.
When I found it 3 weeks later I was rich!
I don't miss those days.
