So far so good. Have had tornado warnings. Sustained winds have not exceeded 35mph. The worst is yet to come. So long as we don't lose power. Thanks for careing.

The storm is still hanging around Cuba, affecting the FL keys, and heading west AFAIK. The spaghetti tracks throughout the week showed the storm mostly coming up the east coast but now it appears the forecast is for it to make landfall around Tampa. I feel for those folks if that is the way it ends up.

We here on the east coast have been preparing for the worst, but praying for God's mercy, hoping it would go out to the Atlantic and fizzle. I've been through too many of them, and I'm always scared. Awesome thing a hurricane if it is a bad one and you're in the cone.

Well it was a rough week. Putting up shutters at church, helping friends and neighbors with theirs, and finally mine. So I was burnt out when the storm finally came and went to the west coast sparing us on the east the full force. But due to the way a hurricane rotates, and to the enormous size of this category 4 monstrosity, we on the east coast were on the 'dirty edge' and experienced hurricane force winds and gusts for hours. Lost power at 4 in the afternoon and was dreading the 90-95 degree forecasted days coming up.

The last two storms that were direct hits, 10 years ago, I was without power 10 days for the first and 12 days for the second. But by the grace of God when I awoke at 5am this morning I heard the refrigerator running ! It appears there is no significant damage so I'm happy to be in the land of the living and thanks for everyone's well wishes !
