Once you are 18, an adult, you pretty much own your own actions regardless of who and how they raised you.

I am not so sure something like this is pure trolling. Regardless of that the unmitigated abuse visited upon individuals on social media is more than reprehensible. Anyone who does this, regardless of the generation they belong to, is wrong to put it mildly.

This type of virulent bullying clearly puts those who do it at the bottom of the human gene pool. We do society a disservice by writing it off as "only trolling" and of no consequence. That at least is clear the high school drop out that I am. Having an education does not make people immune to acting like that either. Someone having a Wharton School of Business degree is an example of that.

Propaganda, disinformation, indoctrination, fake news &c. They have been around for centuries and will not disappear. Even for the educated it is sometimes difficult to know what's true and what not.

Yes, trouble is centuries ago it could take months for crap to circle the globe, then it was weeks and now it is near instantaneous and everyone has a platform to be their very own Goebbels. That is only half the problem, the other being the monstrous bullying of specific individuals as well as entire groups of people that accompanies it.
