Thanked: 3227Makes you wonder about people
Read this Las Vegas Shooting Survivor Inundated Online Death Threats and really had to wonder if people are freaking nutz. The next question in my mind was wondering if people should need a license to breed. Are we really this close to the bottom of the human gene pool?

It just shows how gullible folks are that they believe anything that they hear from any source.

Sad but true, The teachers(?) run from the classrooms due to violence in the schools, the kids are in charge of the asylum. One teacher was fired, lack of empathy, because she told a student (Trans-species) that being a Dolphin was not scientifically possible..?? The middle class no longer breeds large families but only what number they think they can afford to school later ( unfortunately they will take more years and less actual knowledge will be obtained No one knows what the history of the country is and most don't care. The politicos seem to have a lock on the media and so make it impossible to get any real information. Public TV and radio seems to be totally into the far left of our politics. Ask a Gen X what WWII was and get a look of "HUH?"
Think we live in a Democracy? Think twice, it is an Oligarchy. Behind the scenes rule by the affluent. Or by the mobs they cater to.
1k channels on my TV provider's list. About six that I can stomach watching; and then only certain nights and times. Pander to the great unwashed and get the Ad monies!!
I timed one hour long show I watched, 34 minutes of program the rest ads. And some of the program was a rehash of clips from earlier...
We seemingly are beyond the point of no return....

I've butted heads with other folks on here over generational difference (all in good fun)... but I definitely agree with what you're saying Geezer.
Even as a millennial, I look around at the status of the world today and how people behave and treat one another and that's just not how people are meant to behave. And the blind following of whatever media channel (aka political party) folks subscribe to is of serious concern. There is issues on both sides to be sure.
It feels like we do not live in a democracy these day. Heck, it doesn't even feel like we live in a republic! I hesitate to say we're on the point of no return, because I certainly hope that isn't the case... but I definitely sympathize with everyone that feels that way.

Much of the change is due to definitions:
Discrimination once meant making an informed choice.
They are defined by a society and its leaders to be:
What you can get away with while living in your society. Look at the "moral" actions of the countries that brought "enlightened rule" to the "heathens" where there were things to plunder. Totally "moral!" Each generation looks to what its parents got away with and does them one or two better.
Ethics, are another story. They are the building blocks of a complete person and thus a successful society. Problem, there are few actually teaching ethics...anywhere.

I have two points here.
The one thing being educated does to you is you learn about this thing called "critical thinking" or using yer grey matter. Always question don't accept no matter what side of the aisle your on. Most folks do not have this ability anymore. They're just a bunch of sheep.
Back in the 50s and 60s the wealthy realized something. As long as the masses could buy a house, drive a late modeled car, go on vacation and send their kids to college they were happy and the wealthy could do whatever they pleased. That has changed. Now the wealthy want it all for themselves and social unrest in building and this country is going down the tubes. The wealthy don't care cause they can get on their private jets and leave if need be.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I agree on most of what's said here.
But I think you guys are mistaking Generation X and Millennials. Gen X is born between 1961-81, Millennials after that.
Most Gen Xer's I know are my friends, and we've used outhouses and were taught about WWII in school. Now the schools curriculum changed when the Millennials got there. They aren't taught what we were.
The future doesn't look to bright if run by Millennials though.
And as to Morals and Ethics..................we're the last generation with them in my opinion.
I try to raise my sons with both, and hope I succeed.Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Now I know that some people out there will say that the younger folks are just trying to express them selves. But when I see all the piercings hair and pants down to your knees clothes I would have been ashamed of (even though that's what In a lot of cases I had to wear) Then listen to what they say about wanting everything free or if they do apply for a job and don't get it I really do think we are getting close to the bottom of the barrel. Now I also know all the youth are not as I described but there are enough out there give a person cause for concern.
