A couple of years ago in Texas we had 30 lbs of them for lunch. Only a dozen of us eating them.

They put mayonnaise on French fries and even worse, shrimp
Had to do a Check up with my Doc the other day
We went through my Prescriptions, she has me keep
Colchicine and Indomethacin on hand for gout flare ups
Here is the oddity,
They were over a year out of date, we realized that since Sept 2021 and our first bout of Covid during the Delta wave I have not had a Flare Up
She is checking to see if it was a "Thing"
I haven't had anymore flare ups since, either. I'd say mine was from the sea food boil. Just too rich for me, I guess.
This is what has helped me https://a1herbaltea.com/ also for flare ups Colchicine, but of course too much of that can kill you
Colchicine gives me the sh**s bad.
On my list of allergic/do not take list.
I can't take colchicine because I only have one kidney and it's NOT kidney safe. I was on allipurinol but I started having side affects so they changed me over to febuxostat. Easy, peasy, lemon squeazy since then.
Just saw my Doc the other day and said my uric acid numbers are good so it must be working. Also I quit drinking altogether (except communion wine)
So far so good.
I've had it for years. It's a form of arthritis. As long as I'm on an anti-inflammatory I get no attacks. If I go off then they return. Colchicine is effective if you get an attack and take it the first 24 hours otherwise it does nothing. Also in the old days they gave too large a dose of the stuff which made many very sick. I use .6mg and get no ill effects the rare times I need it.
