    Yep, 50mg Hydrochlorothiazide
    40mg. Lisinopril
    5 mg. Amlodipine
    200 mg. Metoprolol
    81mg aspirin.

Been on that for several years now. But the big bowl of seafood boil is what caused this first flare, being it was the first one I've ate since I was 18 or 20 years old, I'm 51 now.

Were talking 1# of shrimp, 1# crawdads, 8 or 9 clams, 1# kielbasa, 8 new potatoes quartered, 2 ears of corn, halfed.

Practically ate the whole thing in one sitting.

Crayfish, mud bugs, etc. Think lobster but micro sized and living in fresh water. I used to catch them for fun after any torrential rains in Houston while growing up.

    OMG Mud Bugs!

    What’s wrong with you people

No, we didn’t call them something else in England as far as I know. Except maybe, no, I got nothing-just too gross to even think about.

I had a few bouts over the years, and finally got on a daily med when I got a crippling episode like you had. The med, Allopurinol, Has given me 10 years gout free. It has no side effects on me. Ask about it if you keep having trouble.

With allopurinol you need to periodically get a liver scan blood test because it puts a strain on your liver and at some point it can cause serious issues. Just something to watch out for.

Well, at my advanced age I am in for regular blood tests and exam every 6 months and my liver is on the list of things to be checked on, mostly due to things other than allopurinol that come in bottles. Good news is all has been well for some years now, and my latest test results were my best ever.

Will do! Over here when we got our independence we decided we liked flavor instead of the bland stuff across the pond so “ mud bugs forever”
