    I’m sorry to hear that.

What position did you play? I have to admit, I didn’t think anyone but the Brits played Rugby.

    For anyone that’s wondering.

Rugby is kind of like American Football but better and doesn’t use pads or helmets.

    Had two attacks.
Second one was the single most painful experience I have ever had, (it topped a ruptured appendix that I didn't attend to for 2 days and hemorrhoids being injected were a breeze in comparison).

Nothing helped it just ran it's course. in my case almost 2 weeks.

The only helpful thing I can say is, it will go away.

I was a flanker but ive played every position but scum half and full back. my college team set a record for most consecutive championships I think it was 11 at the time (we lost only 1 game in those 11 years) they lost a championship at some point but then did a 14 year championship run.

Rugby is actually pretty big here, not on the level of the brits but they now have youth leagues, my son played for 2 years 9-11 then decided he would rather sail.
You also forgot to mention that unlike American football rugby doesn't stop every 10 seconds and change all the players several times a game.

Ha You're right about stopping every 10 seconds.

I'm sure that American Football is a fantastic game and it's wildly popular with the Americans (and Canadians although the Canadians don't play the same rules as the U.S).

My problem with American football is

    1) I don't understand it.
    2) It is soo slow cos they stop everytime someone with the ball gets taken down.
    3) Why is it called Football yet they pick up the ball and run (only person that can touch the ball in my football is the Goalie)

Like I said, I'm sure it's a fantastic game for those that like it so no disrespect intended, just my personal opinion.

Now then, let's talk about Baseball. OMG it's worse than cricket, I used to hate being a fielder and waiting all game for the ball to come in my direction, which it usually didn't. Snorefest or what!

I am a firm believer that cricket isn't a game, it's more like very boring ceremony.

See what I did there? You all thought I was going to bash Baseball didn't you

You misunderstand the stopping every 10 seconds is a good thing. They take 2-5 minutes to explain what just happened in that 10 seconds so even if you have never heard of the game before you can watch it and understand. I played rugby for 3 years before I could understand what was happening from the sidelines (made sense on the pitch mind you)
Baseball ill give you is rather dull but like football they take their time between plays to explain what just happened so if you have never watched a game its OK because they will explain it right after it happens.
Basketball unlike baseball/football is actually very fast moving (its Canadian) but not my cup of tea. It seems like a backwards sport to me. Its not the team that scores the most that wins but the team that fails to score that loses.

All three are excellent for TV as you can place a commercial break anytime you want without visibly disturbing th game flow. Hockey is the exception to major North America sports, they occasionally have to force stoppages t get the ads in.

So I suggest you grab a beer and some nachos take a seat and watch a football game with some friends you will understand the game before its over and may even enjoy it (if you find you aren't add more beer)

I have experienced 4 gout attack. The next to last one happened when my wife and were away and I had not brought any meds. 7 days of absolute pain - couldn’t even walk to the bathroom without hopping on the good foot.

The last attack I was able to grab colchicine when the symptoms first started and was able to abort the attack within a day.

It is a pain that I can’t explain to someone else without invoking what a woman must endure during childbirth. Touching the inflamed area with something as light as a feather is excruciating.

Go see a doctor. Get your uric acid level checked and make sure you have colchicine and whatever other anti-inflammatory meds the doc prescribes within reach.

    Good luck.

I do have gout. the worst foods to eat are beer, red meat, and shellfish.

You may have experienced a single episode but if you get more flareups then that means you have to think about treatment.
See a doctor for tests and go from there.

Gout is painful alright but it isn't even close to childbirth and both times 10 approximates a kidney stone attack.

Yep, had a kidney stone once. Was at work when it hit me, told the boss I was headed to the ER, he replies that I'm a pu$$y. A year later he got one, cried like a little baby. I still work with the guy, and we talk about it all the time. . Found out how much we like morphine.
