    Default Signs of the Times

We've become accustomed over the years to see discarded items scattered here and there and have learned to just turn a blind eye to it. How many of you can remember the last time you saw a used condom in a parking lot or similar place? There is a new discarded item appearing all over my town - discarded face masks. Masks that are just dropped on the ground in the parking lots of many stores. Discarded like a used tissue. And all these places have plenty of trash containers right by their doors for use. Anti maskers are one thing but a used mask full of who knows what besides Covid not properly thrown away is disgraceful. My two cents worth.

I agree that this is being done all over. It's a shame people have forgotten how to use a trashcan.

While I don't get out and about a lot I have seen the discarded mask littering parking lots.

While there is a reason I call my humble abode 'The Boars Nest' as I'm not a very good housekeeper but I'm no 'Slob' and those that do just pitch their masks are indeed Thoughtless Slobs.

As far as picking a discarded mask up to deposit it in the receptacle it SHOULD have been placed in---no way. If they are still there when the giant truck mounted vacuum cleaner comes at night to clear the parking lot then they will be taken away.

Well, at least they got it half right: its good to wear a mask; it's pitiful that they're such slobs.

Well, you see discarded syringes and plenty of discarded people so nothing surprises me anymore.

Reminds me of being in a public place with a trash can near by and 5 feet away from the trash can there is trash on the ground. I have other words beside 'slobs' for those who do this kind of thing but need to watch my language, a bar of soap may be in my future if I'm not careful.....

There's a whole thread on soaps here, so at least you could get a tasty one.

I find this disgraceful also but I think you have to take into consideration that at least some of them were not discarded but dropped accidentally. I have ones with the insignia of the Tampa Bay Lightning that I wear and I have accidentally dropped one of them more than once but was very diligent about retrieving them. Some people are not as diligent possibly
