have cut my own for years. Use a clipper with the #3 attachment all over. Used to have my wife do my neck but it always scared me. I figured out how to do it myself by putting my hand at the base of my skull and shaving up to my hand. Seems to work well (not that i can see it but SWMBO hasn't complained).

I am not cutting my own hair yet but having it short is started to grow on me. :)
During this past year my hair has only been cut 2x. This past June and now about one week ago. In June I went bald and this last time about 1/2".
I do have some pet clippers and a beard trimmer that has a bunch of attachments. I think I will give them a try. :)
I am very surprised that so many of you guys cut your own hair! :)

Bingo! When I retired, I bought a cordless Wahl clipper ("Peanut"), and it's now almost nine years that I DIY my hair. Like you, it's #3 all over, then one or two passes with #2 around the ears and sides, for that "high 'n tight" look. Oh! and the ear hair... ought to have 'em transplanted up-top.Quote:

Yep, It came to the point in my "male pattern baldness" that it was time to stop worrying about styling my hair and go the easy route. It's so easy now to just get up and go. no need to worry about the hair!

I've been cutting my own for quite some time now.
A set of whal clippers with 1/2" or 3/8" guards.
A pair of scissors.
And I use a safety straight, for cleaning up the back of my neck.
