    Default Styptic Pencil

When I started shaving with a straight I bought a styptic pencil. It got used a lot and I always ran it under the tap to make it white again. It dissolved quickly and I didn't replace it because I had pretty much stopped cutting myself and anyway my alum block did the job if I needed it.

I was in the Pharmacy yesterday and picked up a styptic pencil on a whim.

I think that maybe we must cut ourselves just because we can stop the bleeding with those pencils.

I put my new styptic pencil out with my other shaving necessities and promptly cut myself, not badly, just a nick but I haven't cut myself for such a long time.

I am convinced that if I hadn't bought that styptic pencil I wouldn't have cut myself, maybe their cursed.

If you buy something for a hobby, you will find a day to use it

Its not the pencil. No matter how long we have been using a straight we always manage to draw blood once in a while.

In this game, it's a good thing to have on standby

A little bloodletting once in a while isn’t a bad thing. Lowers blood pressure and reminds us to pay attention when handling sharp objects, especially when we start to get proficient at getting them really sharp.

I should keep one in my toolbox, at work.

Hose clamps and zip ties, draw more blood in one day, than a straight does, all year

It seems like I cut myself in spurts. No pun intended. I won't cut myself for months and then I'll cut myself two or three times in one shave.
Oh yeah, if you dry the pencil with TP or a paper towel after and it will last much longer. If you leave it wet it will swell up and fall apart.
