What is it?

On another thread, I have learned many bright member here.
This fob was found in a very vintage desk top box, along with razors etc. I discovered this site, while researching the razors.

One of the members observed that this looks like a Cadueces, but the snakes are upside down. I was aware vaguely of the medical connection to the symbol, but have founds zero examples of the upside down version.

Then the light came on, and I recalled my grandfather, and according to my father, was the youngest 33rd degree Mason, in the state of MO, in the early 1900s. How young? No idea, its probably secret, knowing the Masons.
Sure enough, there seems to be a connection between them and the Cadueces symbol, but again, no examples found of one with snake heads going down.
Am open to all and any suggestion as too where to look next.
BTW, its black glass one side, blood red the other.
As a lead, there were in the box, several dental tools, tooth puller and some scrapers and blades. But I found not dental connection to the fob.
