The Coming Storm
Actually the title reminds me of a scene from Terminator. I forget which one.
So let me state VERY CLEARLY the purpose of this thread is NOT to espouse political views or left vs right agendas or philosophies.
The purpose is to address what YOU think the future holds for this country.
Do you think we are in trouble? I have heard some say we are headed for civil war and are in fact very close to it. What might actually set something like that off?
We as a country have been divided before however that divisiveness was limited to only a few issues. Even prior to the Civil War the differences though vast were limited in number. We were divided during the Viet Nam War but that was limited in nature too. Now it's different. The most basic issues become battle cries and some on both sides are ready to take up arms against the Govt, those they dislike or each other.
So what do YOU think? Ya got a crystal ball?No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Good luck with the thread. I think you are just asking for trouble.

Your premise for the thread cannot be separated from politics. I am sad to see such a thread on this forum, it will cause strife and resentment and not lead to better understanding. These threads remind me of two elementary school kids pushing each other and saying "yeah, no you, oh yeah" just posturing trying to save face, and look cool.

The subject of this thread doesn't require any political posturing. If you can't respond to it with out that baggage it just means you are looking for a platform and in that case you are not welcome on this thread.
It's just an opinion as to what might be coming. No names, no political parties, no talk of issues. Just a look into your crystal ball.
I will not hesitate to close this thing if there are any violators. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

To be honest, I personally felt pretty threatened in the UK during the first lockdown, we saw mass panic buying stores with empty shelves and people have definitely changed for the worst, firearms and guns in the UK are pretty hard to own without a very good reason, I have always owned and kept up my Firearm certificate going just in case the day came where I needed to protect my family, I keep a few thousand rounds just in case.

I'm opinionated, so I'll refrain from comment, other than to say this: Talk to your children.
They are the future.
Mine (aged 19-28) are pretty squared away. They value education, they have a pretty good
work ethic, they care for each other, and they are reasonably well informed.
We certainly don't always agree with each other, but we do share a concern for the health of
our environment, for the value of human life, and they do have a pretty solid commitment to
fairness as a political ideal.
We sometimes get tangled up with our different takes on current events, but I respect that, on the whole,
their hearts are in the right place. So, since they represent the future, I look to them for a vision.
As I recall my own youthful idealism, hopes, and attitudes...and compare them to our present circumstances...
it's abundantly clear that things don't always work out the way we envisioned. But we're still here, we still care,
and we still hope for the best."If you come up to it, and you just can't do it, then that's jolly well where you are."

Where are we headed ???? Hmmm, frankly I never expected to be where we are today. The technology revolution has had far more consequences than most people expected.
Future? .... your guess is as good as mine.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
