    Default I'm on a diet

    Day one, chicken and salad.
    Day two, fish and salad.
    Salad makes me sad.

If your going to drink beer on a diet you need about 2 ft of garden hose and a transmission funnel. As fast as you can. Otherwise it's too fattening. Lol

So that is what Ive been doing wrong with my beer. Where is that garden hose.

Sorry Steve. I dont really believe in diets. I will cut back on things now and then. A buddy of mine says to eat protein like TC and another guy i know says count calories. I just cut back on eating junk food but its hard to do when sitting in the truck all day. Munching on carbs is great fun.

Sorry to hear that Steve. Is this voluntary or did your doctor tell you to?

    It was the wife actually.

I reckon I should be left alone to shave my pudgy self in peace.

I have found that if it were my idea or the wife's then I am likely to say to hell with this. My doctor gave me a plan that I follow because I will be sorry if I don't. "Follow this or you'll have kidney failure and die a slow miserable death." That worked for me. Maybe go see your doctor.

That is an great idea, I will try that cos I'm am fed up with salad, I'm starting to think I like my fat self if salad every day is the cost of being thin as a whippet.

Of course, my doctor could stand to lose a few pounds too.

Maybe I should tell him then we can lose some weight together eh

I am the same weight at 72 that I was at 27, about 30 pounds more than what the BMI charts say I should be.

The only problem is that the shape of body seems to have changed as a result of its battle with the earth’s gravity. What used to be muscle on my upper body is now jiggly stuff on my waistline and butt.

Between 27 and 72, I had periods of time during which I ran regularly (sore knees and hips), did aerobics (sore knees, ankles and back) and lifted weights (just sore everywhere) and weighed up to 40 pounds less than I do now.

Whenever I dieted, I lost weight, but it came back quickly after the diet ended, often gaining more than I lost on the diet. I felt best when I was running because I could eat what I wanted and the weight still came off. That ended when I ran into a pot hole during the winter because my glasses had fogged up. I never got back into after that.

IMHO if you are generally healthy and dieting to lose weight without changing the activity level in your lifestyle, you are destined to be frustrated and ultimately unsuccessful.
