North of the border it is pronounced with no second 'g'. A simple glottal stop is whats called for. 'Ming-in'. Something that is mingin is very unsavoury, disgusting repulsive.... you get the idea. Similar to scottish words such as boufin (bow-fin) and the phrase 'gie's me the boak' (geez me the boke). This phrase means 'it makes my stomache churn'.
An ugly girl can be called a 'minger', particularly in central scotland. This gives rise to an army of young teenage minger neds all sprogged up underage (see Glasgow) :roflmao:roflmao
