    Default Favorite Heavy Metal Songs

Gugi's thread made me want to start this thread as a few mentioned heavy metal. I don't listen to too much metal anymore but when I was in high school and learning the guitar, I listened to a select few bands ---some metal and some not. But post your favorite metal songs if you would like.

    Late 70's Scorpions (forget the 80's and 90's -- I guess they're still around)

Man, some of this stuff makes me laugh --- but I still appreciate it.

Me too I know what you mean Justin! Great post. I always wondered why did the Scorpions transitioned to glam rock... must be one of those European quirks

My favorite heavy metal group remains Metallica, though - I think they were one of the more accomplished musicians from strictly music quality point of view, regardless of genre. Sorry, no songs from me for now - too tired to be looking up and if I start I'll waste few hours doing so.

No one can stay the same I suppose ---even Metalllica did a transition -- I guess they all do. But I like really unrefined stuff --raw and to the bones. Most of it is just too polished.

Does The Who or Led Zeppelin count?
I never really listened much to music after 1982.

The purist would probably say no ----but there is a cross over and these two bands were influential --but they are more classic rock/hard rock/heavy blues than metal --but not exactly ---it all gets a little murky. The Who had there own unique thing going on -- no one like them, and Led Zeppelin is so damn influential that you really can't leave them out of anything.
