Whoa! I'll bet that blade grabs people's attention.
Well, at home, a picture of a badger emerging from its burrow. (I guess we can say there's a connection to straight shaving, but it's coincidental.)
The picture on the left was my desktop picture at work most of the winter. It's a scene of "Paul and Virginia," a sculpture that has been on the campus of my alma mater, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, for longer than I can remember. The current desktop pic is on the right. It's a quaker parrot, or monk parakeet, because we have one at home.
I don't know if the admins will appreciate all the pictures, but here is mine. A picture of our boat from the top of the mast.
A resized and cropped version of The Great Wave off Kanagawa. I had a really nice one which was mostly black with a good sharp image of the moon in the middle for quite a while as well.
I did a simplified version of that on my wall at home, i really like this drawing, as everything that is oriëntal.

Here's my desktop.
A Forever Friends screensaver that my daughters put there.
I must really be out of touch with the modern world. I thought you meant a physical desk top, not a screen saver :)
I've got a 1950s, Eames era desk lamp, three vintage typewriters.....a Royal deluxe, a Corona Skyriter and an Olivetti Lettera 32, a basket full of real onionskin typing paper and a stand with a dozen vintage fountian pens.......
I was born 40 years too late.....

Here's my desktop. I've got a thing for mandalas. . .
a black background or the default green hills that windows XP comes with, i have too many desktop icons to take advantage of a picture.
Here's the desktop on my Mac. The missus chooses it, but I have to approve. The last one was some grainy, low resolution fairy thing:nono:
On my PC I have a yellow weathered nuclear hazard tank thing. I dabble in graphics design, so I like to have backgrounds that are well made and visually "cool". You can find a lot of neat backgrounds at deviantart.com. You don't have to worry about crazy banner ads with naked women or viruses with them. It's an art site for the sake of art.
At the moment mine is this, though it changes about every week.
Mine, on my Mac (Samsung 27" monitor) from a site called Digital Blasphemy...very cool pics.
A photo I took of the Caledonian Canal at Fort Augustus on a recent misty morning:
I've had this one for a while, I think its time to change it up...in fact, I think I'm gonna look for a new one right now...

My window manager and desktop themes change regularly
hey, those are cool, especially the sonogram! I should've known that the straight poster would've came from someone on srp lol. Thanks for making it, it's my favorite desktop..and from the looks of it, I can see why it's your go-to razor!:tu
This is what I got on my iMac. The Macbook has another "wall" :p
It most certianly is fluxbox .... my fav
Unfortunately I appear to be running gnome on a couple of systems just now also just for easiness to get some apps I need ..
I've not got the time to customise the fluxmenus' at the moment ..
nice to see someone recognised FLuxbox :-)
Cheers garry
I used to use windowmaker and fluxbox when I ran linux on the desktop. Sadly, work forced us to use windows for security/policy reasons and I don't have the time to mess around with it at home like I used to and we don't run X on most of the servers so no cool desktops for me.
Here is a picture of what's on my desktop
I switch from time to time. Here are a couple. I just got a new camera and I have been testing it out. I need a macro lens for the razors.

Does anyone have any nice, large pictures of straight razors that I could use as a background? I've been searching but can't find much that will fill the desktop without losing image quality.
Thanks!
You could browser the razor club threads, I bet a lot of the photos there exist in higher resolution on the hard drive of the member who took it.
the one I posted in the first post works well for a desktop. My current desktop (I change frequently) I found this one while looking for myspace layouts, liked it so much that I grabbed it for my desktop.

this is my current photo. when i saw it i had to put it on. and this is my work computer, so a lot of people see it.
vgod
I like that pic vgod :) Did you by chance happen to find it at Inhabitat or Treehugger? I frequent those sites and thought I may have seen it there before.
I recently changed mine for the first time in about a year hehe. It's Windows XP with LiteStep as the shell. That's my "start" menu to show you what it looks like. The calendar program is called Rainlendar, and the dock at the top is called RocketDock. I like it because it lets me get rid of all my desktop icons so I can see the background all purdy-like :) Oh yeah and the wallpaper itself is from deviantart.
my newest. I rotate desktops like I do razors. Saw this one of Angelina Jolie and her eyepatch, which the one I'm currently wearing is modeled after, and had to have it.

One of my favorites, both the car and the operating system!

I've had this one on for a few months now.
This looks good in tile:

I recently changed mine from a mountain lake to this one...
So yeah, my message was too short
I've had the same one for years, just can't bring myself to change it as I never get tired of looking at it.:D It's such an awesome photo and a rare occurance to find white and orange together in the wild like that.
I used to be into digital blasphemy when I was in school, but I felt it was kind of repetitive after a while. Now I tend to favor the stuff from deviantart.com, the one i'm using at the moment:

I've just change mine for this one:
