Why our so called leaders deem it necessary to declare war on countries who have never taken aggressive action against our own & our armed forces are still there five years later
Our governments themselves who take actions that put the whole population at risk when they are meant to do the opposite.
If you defend yourself, you end up being charged with assaulting your attacker.
Kids today. Bah humbug
Why people are allowed to buy a computer when they can't event get the clocks on their DVD players to stop flashing 12:00? :hmmm:
Sorry guys, im a tech dork, and just trying to insert a little levity!
Levity is good. It is like watching some contender for a Darwin award choking on a denture cleaning tablet because he thought it would be a good way to clean his teeth. I saw this once & could not help myself:roflmao
as a matter of fact some progressive countries use(d) to require licenses for owning kid(s)
as far as the government starting a war against somebody who doesn't present a threat - well that's just evidence of governments getting smarter. they used to start wars all the time and they used to last quite a bit longer (there's a group of them named the 100 year war).... at least now they can pick a state that's not as powerful as theirs.
We get taxed and taxed and taxed, and the things we're taxed for often don't get those funds. My fellow Oklahomans know this as our road and bridge system:rant:
.... where we tax those who smoke cigarettes and use the money to pay for (amongst other things) our national health service (in the UK) which will treat your (and others) lung cancer/asthma which you continue to exacerbate with your smurfin smoking!!!!
Y'know, lung cancer and asthma are caused by other things. Aircraft mechanics are good candidates for lung cancer because of the chemicals:(
Of course they are. But smoking is a prime cause of- in particular- lung cancer. I'm not saying its the only cause, i'm just saying its a crazy system.
True, but it wouldn't be very nice to leave out the smokers when everyone else gets treated. Many illnesses are preventable anyway. It is screwed up though when people smoke a pack a day then wonder why they get the lung and throat maladies they have.:td
What kind of a world do we live in where people blame the world they live in for their problems! :D
Umm, passive smoking? I mean thanks all the same but if the smoker doesnt smoke around others then lung-related issues in passive smokers will be lessened....
.... you know TBH I could rant about this but it would be getting us off topic and today I had a smurf day and i'd just be taking things out on you lot. Which I dont want to do. So i'm not going to follow up any more posts related to this.
Thanks.
What kind of a world do we live in when society dictates what people can or cannot breathe?
Honestly, a man can put Sodom to shame these days but the minute he wants a smoke he's hung, drawn, and quartered. Thanks anti-smoking, anti-humanity fascists; enjoy the extra ten or twenty years you'll have on this miserable rock.
You think that's bad? My university has banned all tobacco products anywhere on campus, including outside and even in your car. That's right: university PD can pull you over and give you a ticket for using any tobacco, including chewing and dipping.
Smoke in your car. Call the ACLU. Retire Rich!!!! The courts already have precedents stating that your car is your personal property and that outside interests have no legal right to control what you do or do not do there.
I don't think they can regulate you outside of a building either, If you can light up a flag on campus you should be able to light up a fag.
depends on if it's public or private. private universities can do whatever they want, include restricting free speech, to the extent that they can expel you for it... no legal juridiction, but the threat of expulsion. there are more rules concerning what schools that run on public money can and cannot do, but i am not as familiar with those.
You might have an idea there...:hmmm:
Maybe it's time for me to get a pipe and start driving around with it:roflmao
EDIT: Gotta link to these court rulings? I looked around a little (not a lot, but it wasn't promising) and didn't find much else than Cali banning it.
which takes us neatly back on topic.
I think the State is wrong period. I don't think I should have to get a license from the government to do, say, carry, or operate anything. I don't think there should be a license issued to have children. It does upset me when I see responsible middle class people who can afford to take care of them, having one or two kids and then you have poorer folks having four or five children and stressing the welfare system to the max. I am thirty one years old and as a personal choice, I will never have children. I don't want the responsibility and I don't want to raise a child in the world we are living in today. I also absolutely don't think that I need permission from the State to have a child should I change my mind.
Anarchy is Order
The State Creates Chaos
Not so much a "what kind of a world do we live in" rant, but an amusing discrepancy.
While the rest of the world is busy policing people's smokes for traces of cannabis, the Dutch are busy tracing people's smokes for tobacco.
(The Netherlands are the final EU member state to implement the ban on smoking cigarettes in public places and this has thrown their popular coffee shop culture into disarray. Customers can buy cannabis openly and freely within the cafes, and can even smoke them in cafes as long as they contain no tobacco, because that would be against EU law. So the police are now busy ensuring that all those stoners are not sneaking a little tobacco in their spliffs!:roflmao)
ah the wisdom of national government micro-regulation
I think the world I live in is pretty sweet. I try to not worry about what other stupid people do. I'm one, don't worry about me I'm fine.
I like to roll my own cigs. The Gov'ts love their tax revenue and spend my money on all kinds of poop. If they out-lawed tobacco who'd pay for their loss?
Ahhh... this one is pretty good .. more jibjab
