The telecom lasers I worked on in 1999-2001 emit pulses at a clean bitrate of 10Gbs.

that also depends how far you are from the antenna. it would be a terminally bad idea to stand in front of broadcast antennas for national or international frequencies.
our national frequency broadcasts at 600 Watts. Trust me, you'll feel that.
There is even a darwin award for some schmuck who fell asleep in his lawnchair in front of an antenna. Apparently he always installed himself in front of it because it was so pleasantly warm...
