After day job: Violin maker. (Last 7 years, and for the rest of whatever life I have left.)
Composer, age 24. I write strange music that upper-class bouregois europeans enjoy on saturday evenings... but only if they are intelectuals. Other than that I am a full-time student currently prepering 2 simultaneous masters programmes... :) I am also an amateur aristocrat! ;):rolleyes:
I co-own and manage a chain of piercing studios, tattoo studios, tanning salons, and branching off in other directions. I enjoy it most of the time, but the stress is aging me earlier than I'd like.
When I'm not injured I'm an assistant Muay Thai instructor by night. I would be a pro-am fighter but I keep getting injured. :shrug:

I've been a systems technician for 10 years. At this time caring for my mother full time "The state pays me for it" which was amputated leg since he suffered a vascular problem in February.

Where are you studying? I don't envy you coming out of law school in this environment. I came out in 1994 which was at the end of a recession, and 80% of my classmates didn't have jobs - most got jobs eventually but it was a stressful last year, with people trying to figure out how they were going to pay their loans, and if you had a job you didn't want to talk about it.Quote:

I am 34 and a gormless twit (Academic variety), and one of the worst kind: a writing git; I have also been a slave in many other jobs: secateur factory worker, helper at a mechanics (Mercedes and Ferrari), caretaker in a printing factory, mountain infantry man, waiter in a hotel (situated at 2339 m.) and teaching assistant... Now I am finishing my PhD and trying to find a decent work - marriage brings responsibility among other things.

Ps lots of you all have some interesting jobs !!
Parts apprentice in the motor trade (I work for Skoda, for those in the US, its like a budget version of a VW, google them :) ) and will be for the next year until i qualify, then i'll hopefully find my way into a managers position in the next few years, and then on to who knows what!

University of New Brunswick (I'm in Canada). Actually I already have a job lined up. Out of 82 people in my year there's only about 20 still looking for articling positions. There's only 15 law schools in Canada so we produce a lot less students every year.Quote:

27 going on 28 here and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I've done so many jobs in the last few years I almost can't remember them all. Currently at an environmental company (wife put her foot down on switching jobs again) and running a vac truck for them. Basically I suck up sh@t, fuel (gas and diesel), carwash sumps and whatever other disgusting thing they can find for me to suck up. Worst job so far is sucking out the sump at the local animal shelter, something about getting covered in dog and cat p!ss just turns me off. I've also sucked up a gravel truck load of dead chicks, chicken guts, blood and eggshells, that was pretty gross too. :) Anyway it pays the bills, that's all that matters.

Well, I'm 36 and have been in law enforcement for going on 13 years.
I was a deputy sheriff in Ohio when I got out of graduate school in 1996 (no degree, so I'm officially a grad school dropout).

I am a 31 year old, self employed, private chef. I work for a family of five. I provide in home dinner service three nights per week and prepare and deliver hot lunch to the dad and his business partner at work five days per week. I also have one client who I cook for once per week. For him I prepare several meals and leave them in his fridge and freezer. I am a culinary school graduate and I worked in restaurants for many years before that cooking, waiting tables, and bar tending.
I am also a personal fitness trainer. I worked in a gym for four years and I have a couple of clients I still train as a side job.
This has been my first full year of self employment and I really love my job! I'm not looking forward to paying the tax man this year. It seems like you really get bent over by the man for being self employed.

I'm 22, Technical specialist for retailer London Drugs in western canada. Basically I sell high end digital SLR's. Just completed my CCNA Computer networking training and looking for a job as a junior network administrator.
Ladies never divulge their true age, so let's just say I am 30+, My official title is Account Management Representative. I work with customers to ensure their large graphics equipment stays under service agreement so they have no problems getting things repaired in a timely fashion. I also have a certificate in Phlebotomy (blood taking) so I am a vampire in waiting on the side. I haven't been able to secure a full time position doing this. So blood letting doesn't bother me a bit. :w
Have you checked into making your business an LLC? It might be something worth checking into. Self-employed people do get the IRS's shaft big time.Quote:
