It seems stupid to do those sales anyway. Why not sell items at a good price anyway? If they can slash the retail price by 60% and still make profit, then why not just cut the everyday price down lower, and never have sales? Well, i worked EMS today in Winston-Salem. We didn't have any incdents.

I read that and can sympathies with the poor workers - I was working at an electronics retailer when on boxing day the hoard broke the doors of the hinges - we all ran for cover. While nobody was hurt, we had to get a welder it to put the steel door frame back together.

I really feel for this person's family, who has to deal with the loss of a loved one so that someone could get $10 off a dvd player...

It's ridiculous what our society has stooped to just to save a buck. All these early morning sales are out of hand.

I agree mark it down for good instead of having insane sales where someone gets killed! This guys family didn't need this & neither did he. Poor guy.

There is an outlet mall here in Castle Rock...apparently the sales started at 11PM last night and went all night...traffic was worse than rush hour. I was getting a haircut today and a guy came in and said he and his wife went shopping from 11PM last night to 7AM this morning....and he acted like it was an achievement.

I do combat shopping...I have a list...I'm in, I get what I want, I'm out. My mom is the same way...to her "going shopping" is a form of torture...she does her Christmas shopping in record time....and usually has it done in September, October. Also, I do cash only. I've never been fond of the gift tag "To: You From: Me (and Visa at 21%)"

I used to go to the mall, get a coffee and watch the parade of stupidity unfold from the sidelines....but now, the malls are too packed and the feeding frenzy just gets worse each year...the panicked look on parents' faces that if they don't get junior the perfect gift, he won't love them; the brats screaming "Gimmee! I want!"; the husbands/boyfriends spending way beyond their means because some marketing genius has equated diamonds with love.

I have the perfect gift for them...but how do you wrap a swift kick in the ass?

That's a verynsad story on so many levels.

I hate shopping. I absolutely detest Christmas shopping. We do most of ours online. So much more civilised with a glass of wine, a smoke, and music playing.

I too have switched to Internet only shopping, the biggest reason is we live in the boonies.... I have figured that even though I drive for free (one perk of working at a car Dealership) it still isn't worth my time or energy, plus I can have the out of town items shipped straight to my Mother and Sis......
I get exactly what I want on my time schedule, no spending my days off at the malls....
Now I will admit that one Sunday during the Christmas rush I do go sit in the food court, and enjoy my Cinnibonn, while the wife cruises the mall... This is purely for entertainment purposes, as I love people watching, although it has become more Sheeple watching lately
