I grew up in a community that was largely Dutch. One could always tell a Dutch farmstead from an Anglo farmstead. I've much respect for the Dutch and worked for many of them in my rural youth, and many were my friends in High School.
The Dutch and the Scots have many similarities - I would like to think I could give that guy a run for his money. Another similarity, talking of money, is that the Dutch call a night out where you buy your own drinks 'going Scots', we call it 'going Dutch'. Tight gits, all of us that is :). Mind you not quite as tight as some of those buns...
