Default Any MotoGp fans in here?

i know the season is at the last race but i haven't been a member here very long. i find myself frequenting these forums over most of the others i belong to, so i thought i would see if there are any other MotoGp fans here. i am a huge motorcycle fan in general as i have 4, build custom Harleys and have a trackday bike, but watching any bike racing is a huge pass-time for me.

BTW, in my books World Superbike, AMA Superbike, British Superbike, etc all count too, i watch them all wheni can get the coverage.

    Ohhhh yea !!!

    LOVE it !

club raced at Pocono and New Hampshire a couple times...

a few of my friends go to Georgia and Laguna Seca and Daytona every year.

The guy who works on my bike raced quite a few times and did Daytona a few years back on his Ducati 748,,,

Fun to watch and fun to race.... hell of a bad day when you crash though ... and everyone crashes eventually

ya crashing is bad. Valencia is tomorrow and Nicky Hayden (the Kentucky Kid) is on the front row. if your interested i have a great site for downloading the races. it does use torrents though so i won't post it
if i hadn't opened my store this year i would have been at the Indianapolis GP this year (even though it rained and was cut short). it is my other obsession, i bounce back and forth from the ride on two forums and these ones constantly.

While I do have a couple of riding seasons under my belt, I never really followed the MotoGP.. Could be because I didn't have much time to watch tv in the last few years. What do you have for track? Btw. are you also on GTAM?

98' Ducati 916... too much crap to list and I used mostly my 98' GSXR 750 that was worked pretty good. Sold the GSXR a while ago to a friend....

The best days we had on the track were at Pocono for the FUSA weekend.... what a track setup that was ! I remembet the Aprilia 250's getting around the track with recond times... MAN I wish I could have one of those for a day on the track !!!

I too am a huge MotoGP fan. I've been following racing since the early 80's, back when I used to race. I've been riding to Laguna Seca every year they have a GP.

ah the good old days of King Kenny, Eddie Lawson. i wasn't born until 83 so i have only watched these on tape but they were great. my favourites as a kid were Wayne Rainey and Kevin Schwantz ( i know how could i like them both). i kind of lost touch during the Doohan domination years as the competition wasn't really there (not to say doohan wasn't great). Gardner was always great to watch in Autralia as he was basicly unbeatable.

i can't help but be a Rossi fan as he is just so versatile. when he puts his fastest lap(and lap record) in on the second last lap of the race it astounds me. but i do like to see Hayden do well as i watched him progress in AMA(live a lot of the time). i can't believe Sete Giberneau is coming back. Valencia will be good tomorrow.

For a young lad you've got great taste, and it says a lot that you know those names. All those guys were my hero's growing up. Roberts, Spencer, Lawson, Rainey. Watching them come up through the ranks was a treat.

I'm also a huge Rossi fan. In my opinion he's the best racer of all time. A great character and so fun to watch.

I was thinking Casey would have to be the new Sete, and was well on his way with some of the recent finger pointing, but nice that the real deal is coming back. That rivalry was so fun to watch, and really showed off Rossi's abilities. I'm just afraid Sete won't have the skills to keep up, having lost out on two seasons. Being on a Duc will help, depending on who he gets his tires from.

i can't believe i forgot Fast Freddie Spencer. ha! those days were great as i remember them (even though i was young). i used to watch them with my dad who is a rabid fan that will watch any racing he can get (though he is terrible with computers so i have to do most of the finding).

i do agree about stoner. he is very fast and very talented and i was a little disappointed when he got a little whinny there, but now he seems to be back to himself ( not falling off anymore either ha!).

as far as Sete goes, i think he will be up there but if anyone believes that Ducati wants him to beat stoner then they are dreaming. i'm sure he still has speed but who knows about his consistency. plus they are going to one tire manufacturer next year (bridgestone) so the brand won't be the problem, but whether he'll get the same tires as Stoner and Rossi.... we'll see. i hope Hayden really gets in the groove with Ducati as he is fun to watch and always a great charactor.

BTW i have been watching the 250 class this year and it is great racing. those guys are battling. we'll see next year though. and 2010 will be a wreck with the change to 4 stroke 600s.
