    Default Flashlights Anyone?

This all started with a rash of home burglaries near us, when the economy went sour. I had a home security system installed, and took a few trips to the shooting range to brush up. Then I realized that the only light I had was, like most folks, an old 3D mag that sucked up D-cell batteries and a few minimaglites I used to shine lights in patients' eyes in medical school.

A bit of googling and reading on some forums, and I upgraded my 3D mag with a Malkoff drop-in. WOW.

Now I have a Surefire 6P with Malkoff M60 on my bedstand, a G2 with M60W in my car, a AAA Fenix LOD on my keychain, and a Nightcore Extreme coming in the mail to sit beside my old Benchmade AFCK. Did I mention I was prone to acquisition disorders?

Knowing how straight shavers tend to be drawn to similar hobbies, I am venturing a guess that there are some other folks here that know there is more to this than what is on the aisle at Wallyworld. Am I right?

I probably should have posted this in the finer things in life forum, so I'd appreciate it if one of the mods can move it. Thanks.

Yup... Surefire 6P is perfect for what your looking for. The batteries dont last long... the hour they say is the BEST you can expect.

BUT very bright and easy to hold. As well it is easy to turn on and off with the rear button. I would say if you get it to goto the range with it. I was told this and thought how stupid... but it took 1 shot holding the light to realize its not that easy to control the light and your shot. It just you confidence in being familiar with it.

    my 2 cents

    Now that is smart advice.

What the hell did I say ???

man i have to not watch the game when answering posts.. sorry Ray.

But you got the point... It really does boost your confidence knowing you can cordinate comfortably and have a secure feeling about what your doing IF time ever comes.

Again, that light is great but there are others and to be honest it would really be helpful for you to be able to hit up a gun shop, Dicks or specialty store that carries a few different lights so you can see what fits you best. The purpose of this type of light is very specific though its great for looking for crap under the bed the damn dog tries to hide

Lol. My 6P has Malkoff's 240Lumen M60 led drop in, not the stock 60 lumen P60 incan bulb. It's good for looking for crap the dog left 200 yards away. Must be the game again...

Personally I carry the Scorpion from Bass pro shops, only $30 bucks iirc and 117 lumins. bright as all get out, but only an hour for batteries and $10 a set for batteries. But well worth it.
