Another post about listening to music while shaving started me thinking about my ideal shaving experience - not technically, but aesthetically. Here's mine (can you tell I miss summer?):
After spending a summer Saturday doing something worthwhile - yard work, helping a friend, etc. - in the late afternoon I'd put on some good Cuban jazz like Machito or Tito Puente and build a nice cold beverage, either a Lagunitas IPA or a Bombay Sapphire and tonic with one lime and a dash of Peychaud's bitters in a very tall glass with plenty of ice. Then I'd take a nice leisurely shower, starting cool and then gradually going to hot before a cold-water finish. During the shower my brush would of course be soaking, then I'd lather up with Proraso and strop my favorite Reynolds Magnetic. One pass with the grain, rinse, re-lather and make a pass against the grain. Rinse and apply Mennen Afta after shave original (sadly underrated IMHO, and my wife's favorite). Clean up the bathroom and the razor, get dressed, then splash on a bit of bay rum. All this to be followed by any combination of the following: c0cktails with friends, dinner at a waterfront restaurant, a baseball game or throwing some fish or steaks (or both) on the grill.

So what's your ideal experience?
